This symposium focused on understanding and delve into the mental and emotional health issues that are faced by the Latino communities and, as service providers, work towards effective ways to understand, support, and offer services to the community that is strengths-based, use best practices and, focus on recovery and resiliency.
Participants had the opportunity to increase awareness of cultural nuances, beliefs, and experiences of the Latino community and how they impacted behavioral and emotional health at the individual, family, and community levels.
In addition, they learned how strength-based interventions, best practices, and focus on recovery and resiliency may be applied in culturally-specific ways to enhance behavioral health service delivery and outcomes.
