This symposium presented an opportunity to continue the conversation about the socio-economic problems around Gurney Street, the impact of Air-Bridge, the behavioral and emotional impacts, and the increasing amount of overdoses and lives lost in Philadelphia.
This symposium focused on the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities for any individual or professionals who care for persons with mental health, substance use, and addictions. In addition, it provided discussions around patient-centered care through interdisciplinary collaboration utilizing the core competencies of evidence-based practices to promote positive lifestyle changes.
Participants increased their skills and knowledge base for collaborative practice with colleagues to further patient and family-centered care for those with mental health and substance use disorders. Participants gained active, case-based learning to apply their knowledge and skills to real-life patient scenarios.
